The LNP want to make abortion a crime again in Queensland.

Evidence

The LNP are now in power in Queensland.

Queenslander’s still need confirmation that while in government, the LNP will not allow the re-criminalization or watering down of the Termination of Pregnancy Act.

Why do we need this confirmation if they have said they do not plan on making any changes to abortion rights?

That's because the Katter Party have committed to introducing a private members bill to repeal our abortion laws and Crisafulli has previously said that issues like abortion would require a ‘conscience’ vote of the LNP.

A conscience vote means a personal vote (not following party lines) on matters of the conscience.

And the evidence is that many MPs in the LNP hold extreme anti-abortion views.

The risk is that considering their personal beliefs, a majority of LNP MP’s would support the backwards laws to strip back our rights in Queensland.

David Crisafulli and the LNP must make a commitment to Queenslander’s that abortion laws will remain how there are while they are in power.
